What is an insurance adjuster? Print E-mail

An insurance adjuster investigates claims made to insurance companies. We may have to interview the claimant, witnesses and inspect property damage to determine the extent of the insurance companies liability.  Insurance adjusters also handle the paperwork that insurance companies require to process their customer's claims. An insurance adjuster can help detemine depreciation in value, replacement costs, and actual cash value that may be unknown to the policyholder.

When an insurance policy holder makes a claim to the insurance company, the insurance company hires an adjuster to make assessments on the companies behalf.
